what we’ve been up to…

i promised more blog posts, I shall deliver.  so, what have we been up to? not much…

4th of July was a bust. I was looking forward to the fireworks all day long. then my husband and his big mouth ruined it for me.

so here’s a pic of pretty much all i did 4th of july:

sophia’s super cute pedi that i gave her. she loved it. i loved doing it for her. win/win! Hope your holiday was a helluva lot better than mine! next holiday?? MY BIRTHDAY!!!!! AND I CANNOT WAIT!!! i can’t wait to go out again! i went out last weekend with my favorite cousin and we had a blast!! i love going out. i don’t get to do it that often! so i sure do enjoy it when i get to do it! here we are, right before we left!

let’s see what else….??? oh i finally got my michael kors bag i’ve been wanting since last december!!! omg. i love it. LOOOOVE it. it’s big and it’s just so beautiful!

me and my bff made up. we had a falling out back in feb and stopped talking. she emailed me a few months ago and we said “sorry” but didn’t really rekindle anything. then outta the blue i just had the urge to text her and i guess it was at the right time because she came over for a visit shortly after and it was like we never lost contact. that’s the beauty of having a lifelong friendship. it’s kinda like being married, you want to kill them one min. then you love them the next! lol but they are always in your life. i missed her so much and am happy to have her back in my life where she belongs!!

we’ve been spending an obscene amount of time at the pool. it’s a good way to keep the kids busy and i like my new tan! i don’t look super pale and sickly anymore! yay!

we went to visit my brother for father’s day. he lives in victoria. we live in houston. that’s about 2 hours away. my daddy was there. it was so nice to finally see them. i loved it. we had a really good time and i got to see my little niece! I hadn’t seen her since LAST summer! she’s so cute, y’all! I mean seriously, CUTE! and she’s tiny! teeny tiny! i love her so much. she’s a mean little booger, just like her yaya! (that’d be me!)

lately i’ve been into making my iphone as cute as it possibly can be. I think i’ve reached that point:

I’m pretty sure I have the cutest iphone on the freakin’ block!!

so that’s pretty much all we’ve up to. it’s been a great summer so far and i’m real excited for whatever happens next!!!

I can’t believe I haven’t blogged for almost a month. Where and what have I been doing all this time? Nothing much. Kids are on summer break and if we’re not at the pool we’re glued to the television watching something to do with vampires and werewolves. We seem to be addicted to it.  go figure. This summer has been good, no where near as exciting as last summer, but it’s been drama free and that’s the way we like it around here. I wish I had some major stuff to share with you guys, but I’m a simple person with a simple life. I did finally get to go out last weekend with my cousin! She as in town and we we out to a Tejano club to see a few Tejano bands play. That was fun! Other than that, same ol’ same ol’ stuff going on. I sound like a broken record. I’ll stop now.

I figured I would come on here and update just a little, also I really NEED to get back on my low carb diet stuff. figured this way i could blog about it. my birthday is next month and I’d like to lose a few pounds by then. I really need to cut sugar completely outta my diet. that’s so much easier said than done, though! Sugar is in just about everything. I’m  also thinking of cutting out dairy. I don’t eat much dairy, but I do like cheese a little. we’ll see how that goes. That’s about all i’ve got for now!

thursday randomness…

how was your Easter? we celebrated on Saturday because my husband had to work on Sunday. My mom came over and brought my nephew, Xavier with her. The kids had a blast:

they’re so crazy and were all hyped up on candy! LOL

update on my last blog post. went to the dr. she felt the lump. says it doesn’t feel like anything “suspicious” and ordered xrays and some blood work on monday. called me yesterday with the results of the xrays. they were clean (as was the blood work–no thyroid issues!). didn’t see anything suspicious, only saw some arthritis in my spine. I called back this morning to see what she had to say about the lump and her assistant said, “I asked the dr about your bump on your back and she said she told you it was more likely because of the steriod shot you got a few months ago, but if you feel any changes in the bump to see your oncologist” um. ok. thank. you. basically, we don’t know what it is and you’re wasting our time, go see your precious oncologist. well, that’s what it seems like they’re saying to me anyway. ha. so i guess that’s just what I’m gonna have to do. I just wasted a $20 co-pay. grr. I just want to say that MD Anderson is one top notch place. I never EVER had a complaint when I was getting treated there. They always listened to me and never made me feel stupid. And they were always, ALWAYS on top of everything. I miss that (i don’t miss having cancer, just the top notch service!). I wish normal everyday doctors were the same.

in a nutshell

my 7yr old had his field trip this week and i turned into my mother. as soon as i dropped him off i decided that i needed to write my phone number on a piece of paper and stuff it into his pocket. i made sure to remind him not to touch it unless he absolutely needed to and i reminded him to stay away from the animals and not to get too close and and to stay with his group and to most importantly have a great time! and he was like, Ok mommy! and then i said, “ok, come here!” and I grabbed him towards me and I was trying to do the sign of the cross on him like my mom always did and still does to me, and he thought I was trying to High 5 him so he puts his little hand up and i’m all “NOOOO!! stop that!” lol and he was like WHAT? all confused! and every time I tried to do the sign on the cross he’d lift his hand and try to high 5 me! omg. it was hilarious!! LOL! i didn’t get to go with him on his field trip because i had a lot of stuff to do around the house and also because the night before i got like no sleep whatsoever. i couldn’t sleep because my dog Roxy has fleas. she’s NEVER EVER had a flea in her life till the other dog came to live with us. And so that night she was in bed scratching and scratching and scratching. she woke me up around 2:45 a.m. and well, the night before we watched the Exorcism of Emily Rose and OMG! it was almost 3 in the morning and I had almost convinced myself that THE DEVIL HIMSELF WAS GOING TO POSSESS ME IF I DIDN’T GET TO SLEEP BEFORE 3 A.M.!! OMG! Like i was so scared i was about to cry so for a good 10 minutes I just laid there in a state of panic and decided around 2:55 am. that i had had enough of the scratching so I got up grabbed roxy, apologized profusely to her for what I was about to do and put her in the restroom and shut the door behind me. she didn’t cry or anything, poor thing. I think she knew I was frustrated with her. And then I ran back to my bed threw the covers over my head because as we all know, covers protect you from the devil, shut my eyes and forced myself back to sleep.
