paying rent…

The other day we were talking to the kids about paying bills and being responsible and how if you don’t pay your bills your stuff gets taken away. Sophia said she wants a BMW when she grows up. so we tell her how important it is to do good in school, go to college and get a good job in order to have what she wants because if you don’t pay for your stuff it gets taken away, ya know? She just couldn’t believe if you don’t pay, you’ll lose it. so she says, “so… if i get an apartment and I don’t pay my rent, it gets taken away?” and we both say YES. so she says, “oh that’s ok. I don’t need to worry about paying rent because I’m just gonna live with ya’ll till i’m 32.”

SAY WHAT NOW????

I don’t think she was kidding either.

Jesus take the wheel. 22 more years of her attitude just might kill me.

I’m just gonna have to talk her into getting a Toyota Corolla instead so she’ll be able to afford her rent.

haha.

and now on to the randomness…

  • i have a sick kid home today. i think he’s faking though. lol he’s got an upset tummy and the #3′s. that’s what we call the diarrhea around here. =/ i let him stay home cause it’s no fun have the #3 at school!
  • we’re having a birthday party for Sophia this weekend. This is my first actual party for the kids. They’ve been with us for almost 4 yrs now and we usually just do the cake and presents at home thing, but since she’s turning 10,  and will no longer be a single digit, we’re having an actual party for her. only thing is she’s failing reading AND she got a referral yesterday for something incredibly stupid and got ISS (in school suspension) for a day. If I hadn’t spent an arm and a leg on this party already, it would be cancelled. this girl is going to be the death of me, I swear. she’s grounded indefinitely. she gets to be un-grounded the day of the party and on Monday, her actual birthday. And that’s only because I’m being nice.  every spring it’s something new with her. I dunno what it is about spring time that makes my kids crazy?!? good grief almighty.
  • my arms are so sore from yesterdays workout. and i weighed myself this morning and i was up 3lbs. WTF??? are you kidding me, body?? i swear I’ve been sticking to my “diet”! Maybe I need to drink more water. I’m gonna try to do that today. I finally got my blood gluclose numbers down. I actually hit 99 after lunch yesterday and 93 after dinner! woo hoo! now if only i could get my fasting numbers like that it would be AWESOME. today’s fasting was 115. boo.
  • I love hearing stories of people who reversed their diabetes with diet and exercise and losing weight. that is so inspiring! and it makes me want to do all of this even more! I can do it!!!
  • my husband’s last day of working this god awful shift is today! THANK YOU JESUS!! I’ll be so glad to have daddy back at home at a reasonable hour so we can all have dinner at the dinner table like normal. I missed that!
  • I get to see my brother and my niece Santina this weekend!! I’m so excited!!! I missed them!!

ya’ll, tomorrow is the day. THE day! arghhhh! i’m so freakin’ excited. I can’t wait to see this movie. I haven’t been this excited to see a movie since um, the Selena movie. lol that long. I wasn’t all that excited about Twilight, i thought the books were ok. But these Hunger Games books? OMG. I Loved them. I just hope the movie lives up to the books. Hey does your man read? I don’t think I’ve ever seen my husband read an actual book. Sure he reads newspapers and online stuff, but in the 20 years that we’ve been together, I’ve never seen that man read a book. weird. i’m wondering if it’s just my guy or are there other guys out there that actually read books? hmmm… this week i decided to set up a little spot for myself. mainly for blogging, but I’m also using the desk as a vanity. it serves both purposes beautifully. and the little desk/vanity looks so cute in my living room. it really adds some charm to the room. i love it. i just need to get some little organizing trays up in there for my make up. that’s on my to do list for tomorrow. along with going to watch the hunger games! I wish it was tomorrow already. I know, I’m a dork and kinda lame, but whatevs. what can i say? heh. so i know some of you are addicted to this game as I am because we play together! at first i was all OMG! I hate this game! I can’t draw!!! but, it grew on me. my kids are obsessed! I’m not gonna lie, i hate playing with my kids. LOL! i can never guess what their drawings are. [Read more...]

happy. it’s spring break and i get to sleep in for the week. we also have hubby home for a few days and we’ve got a fun filled week ahead of us! =D

2. What’s your idea of a perfect Sunday?
big hearty breakfast with the whole fam, then lounging around on the couch surfing the internet, taking naps here and there and snacks! lots and lots of snacks throughout the day.

3. Would you care to dance?
let me catch a buzz first. lol

4. Reality TV show title?
Did she really just say that?

5. Heels or sneakers?
flip flops will always win.

6. Favorite shower tune?
i’ve been finding myself singing Kelly Clarksons’ Stronger in the shower alot lately.

7. A quiet night at home or an exciting night on the town?
exciting night out on the town. i love going out!

8. Do you smile at strangers?
yes, i do.

9. Something you’d like to do today?
take a nap.

10. Weekly goals:
have fun. smile more and drink tons of water!

here’s a few pics from the weekend of the kiddos. we are def enjoying spring break and finally got a break in the weather dept. it’s NOT raining anymore! yes! hopefully it stays this way for the rest of the week! Hope you guys had a great weekend and an even better week!
